Classroom Grant 2018-19
Teachers of students in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties are eligible to apply for a VAA classroom grant. This grant program is meant to assist art educators in providing the elements necessary for an engaging classroom experience for their students. A completed application must be completed online to be eligible for funding. All applications are due by midnight on May 11, 2018. Selected applicants will be notified on August 1, 2018. Questions? A major element of the Visual Arts Association of Northwest Florida, Inc. mission is the granting of educational scholarships to deserving individuals pursuing careers in the visual arts. Since the first grant was awarded in 1999, art students have been recognized for their outstanding achievements with scholarships for postsecondary education totaling thousands of dollars.
Summary of the VAA Giving Program
1999 - 2001: Scholarship awards through the school system
2002 - 2005: Scholarships focused on high school and college students
2006-2009: Grant awards focused on working artists
2010 - 2017: Grants to Pensacola State College for student scholarships, one in honor of Etoyle Sermons | A grant for the Permanent Collection of the Anna Lamar Switzer Art Center | Grants for multiple years for First City Art Show produced by Quayside Art Gallery | Grants for the educational programming of First City Art Center (Glass Blowing Workshop and Summer Youth programs) | Grant for art supplies to GED program located at Pensacola State College and subsequent campaign for collection of art supplies from members of the Art Study Club and other local artists
